Pop Culture written by Shantel Grace

POPCLOTH / He walks through the sliding kitchen door in never-been-worn-before vintage beach jams. They’re bright orange, short enough to expose his willingness to throw his cares away and soak in the afternoon sun.

She’s standing at the sink, wearing nothing but a vintage poppy apron and a 1940s locket that looks like a tiny doll’s suitcase. He tips his gold-framed shades and struts toward her, showing off his sweet shorts, and then wraps his tanned arms around her waist for a vintage-style kiss. The kitchen never looked so good.

Their moment was made possible by popCLOTH–a vintage pop-up boutique where dreams are made of ruffled floral pillows and poppy prints.

Unlike any other boutique in Hawaii, CLOTH showcases an array of original vintage items in nearly perfect condition. Don’t worry, the heavy sorting has already been done. Brooches and swimwear, kitchen décor, reclaimed and refurbished garments wait patiently for the next episode of Three’s Company.

Complimentary in-house alterations, blast browsing through vintage treasures, and realizing that fashion shouldn’t be a pricey trend but rather an affordable and comfortable way of life, are all part of the CLOTH experience.
